Biography
Romeo Ugalde head manager of Nëim & active resident of the renowned Bar Americas presents his first solo project called "The Midnight perverts." Throughout his career he has released many original tracks and remixes on different labels from the world as Get Physical, Dame Music, Homecoming & of course Nëim 2010 was a great year since Romeo along with Michal Ho where proclaimed the undisputed winners of a contest at the famous Get Physical with their track ‘Miami Sucks' track that was included in Full Body Workout 6, a compilation selected by head honchos M.A.N.D.Y. & DJ T; we can't forget that Michal included 1 track that was done as a collaboration with Romeo in his new album 'A Minute for Everyone' that will be released on the renowned label Tuning Spork. In mid-2010. In the summer of 2011, after a couple of hrs in the studio along Sierra Sam, "Queen of spades" was born, and it was signed to Bloody Mary's label, Dame music. Later In September, his first EP was released including a remix by Miss Jools. In October "Bad Girl" remix got released & was picked by Beatport.com mas "A Must Hear" & "Secret Weapons" with a heavy support by people like Damian Lazarus, Art Department & Maceo Plex. At the beginning of 2012 Nightlife EP was released on Overall Music with remixes by Frank Roger & :Terry:, this was supported by people like DJ T, Russ Yallop, Martin Landsky & many more, also we can't forget the remix that The Midnight Perverts did for Andrade, receiving a lot of good feedbacks from DJs across the world. 2012 Romeo was focused on doing remixes for different labels like: Akbal, Blaq, Louder & much more. In 2013 "Broken" Brett Johnson famous classic tune was re-released which was remixed by Phil Weeks & obviously The Midnight Perverts, this EP was supported by artist such as Seth Troxler, Heidi, Dubfire, Danny Tenaglia, Tiefschwarz & much more. In 2014 his latest remix of Pinto – Dear dear was recently released under Nite Grooves, a New York-based sublabel of King Street having big support from the DJs all over the world. On the same year Romeo released his first EP under his own label: Neim, which was well accepted by people like Amine Edge, Jesse Perez, Martinez Brothers, etc. In mid-2014, Romeo produced a remix for Fade Records, it was supported by many known DJs including John Digweed & added to his selection for his radio show Transitions on May 5th. At the end of the year The Midnight Perverts signed to Superfreq, label of Mr C the British legend, the EP was also supported by John Digweed & was in his show transmitted on December 12th. In 2016 he released several remixes for different labels & also released 2 EPs under Miami's Petfood imprint & Haus22 straight out of Manchester alongside Mariusz Kryska. In August Romeo was invited to perform at the worldwide known Boiler Room sessions hosted at Bar Americas & was well accepted by the house community. Romeo has played all over Mexico & America, sharing decks with people like Dubfire, Lee Burridge, Sasha, Claude von Stroke, Mathias Tanzmann, Damian Lazarus, Bloody Mary, Art Department, DJ T, Siopis, Rhadoo, Petre Inspirescu, Matt Tolfrey, Nina Kraviz & many more; the same way he was invited to different parties during the Winter Music Conference in Miami & recently was invited to perform 5 consecutive times at the BPM festival having a great feedback from the people & the promoters. In mid-2008 the idea of creating Nëim come out, a record label in along with Eduardo Pinto & Marco Balcazar. So far the label has been supported by people Dubfire, John Digweed, Damian Lazarus, Art Department, Maceo Plex, Danny Howells, Lee Burridge, just to name just a few from a huge etcetera. Lately, we can find Romeo working in his studio, composing new tracks, perfecting the dynamics of his live act as Antistar, generating ideas of his multiple invitations all over the country & working on new material for many international labels & his own: Neil.
