Terje Saether

Terje Saether is a producer from the dark and cold north, from the land of the polar bear and aquavit, Norway, more precisely, Oslo. The style of his music is house, deep, spooky and atmospheric with a touch of techno, glazed with techy grooves and spiced with minimal bleeps and creeps. Terje has released tracks and EPs on Hope Records, Darkroom Dubs, Frisky Records, Night Drive Music, Savoir Records, Lucidflow, Wasabi Records, UCM, Budenzauber, Dobbelgaenger, Crossfade Sounds with remixes from Of Norway, Gregory Thyme, Eelke Kleijn, Klartraum, Nadja Lind, MUUI and Lonya. He has regular support from Hernan Cattaneo and Nick Warren. He has also remixed C-Jay&Yoram, Joe Kolbohm and Junior Chaves. His music interest started long ago, deep inside the dark 1980‘ies. His first 12” was Pet Shop Boys’ West End Girls, and his love for synths and electronic sounds has never diminished since then. But he’s quite versatile in his musical taste, with The Cure, Alice In Chains, Slayer, Black Sabbath, Pink Floyd and Led Zeppelin as his everlasting love from the “other” side of the synth/guitar. His love of making his own music and mixes came with the old turntable and the Marantz tape deck he “borrowed” from his parents. He built his own mixer and made a pitch-bend on the old turntable. Later he finally made his own money, and his first computer with Logic 5 could be bought. A Clavia Nord Lead 2 was also bought, and the artist Terje Saether was born .. (but first he played in several electronic outfits, as “Sonic Rage”, “Audiotherapy”, “Silver Engine” (with Vegard Lil’Wolf from Of Norway) and as Marcus M. You might find his first release “Black Kitten” somewhere too..)
