Biography

Hi there everybody! My name is Alex Dugin aka “Superficial” and I am glad to salute you on Frisky.FM! I remember crazy 90’s when Prodigy blew my mind, then early 2000’s when Tiesto was godlike for Russians… In 2005, when I was a student, some of my friends presented me the Double CD of Armin van Buuren and that was the time when all started! In next 5-6 years I was fully absorbed with Electronic music. I’ve spent lots of money (almost 75% of what I’ve earned) for the licensed CDs in Moscow shops – I’ve bought everything from ambient to neurophunk. In 2007 I bought Transitions vol.3 by his majesty John Digweed – and I decided that progressive and deep sound would be my shtick! O, how I was amazed by this compilation, especially the track by Daniela Stickroth – Chest in the Attic. The same year I decided not only to listen, but also to produce. I’ve spent whole days learning DJ software and hardware – funny Virtual DJ and serious NI and Steinberg products,Numark and Pioneer hardware, etc…. I tried to use any opportunity to play – not for money or glory, just because of faith in music. I played at Birthday parties, in some unknown (and already closed) Moscow Suburbs’ clubs, I made the compilations for Institute radio. I’ve made a lot of mixes for friends – they just asked me what they wanted and they got it. Even my parents (especially Dad) asked few times for the mixes for his gym and were pretty excited with Faithless megamix for 30 minutes J Unfortunately, for last few years I had no opportunity to produce anything due to some life circumstances, but now I can. Thanks to Frisky.FM and my friend Victoria who made this come true! Hope you will enjoy my sets which are the perfect blend of dark, progressive and are still melodic and relaxing!
