Biography
It is no wonder that the infamous clubbing brand Godskitchen took Russell G on as resident in 2011. Last year was Russell’s best to date, with big releases on Armada, Spinnin’, plus a huge collaboration with trance legend Marco V.
Russell’s big breakthrough came from the mighty Godskitchen, for whom he has been a regular player for over the past couple of years, both in the UK and internationally, including playing the midnight set for Godskitchen in Sweden on NYE 2008, 2010 saw Russell make his debut at Godskitchen’s Global Gathering on their flagship Boombox stage alongside legends including Armin Van Buuren, Sasha & Eric Prydz.
Apart from gracing the decks at many other nights on British shores, such as The Gallery @ Ministry Of Sound, and Sander van Doorn’s ‘Dusk Til Doorn’ events Russell is also a regular in Europe and Asia.
It’s not just the DJ’ing that has seen Russell earn acclaim. Charge all set the Beatport charts alight, while his rework of ‘Café Del Mar’ with Paul Thomas was one of the summers biggest anthems, getting over 10,000 plays and downloads on Soundcloud.
2012 has seen the launch of Russell’s highly anticipated label, Music Matters Recordings. His first release ‘Piece Of My Heart’ is arguably Russell’s biggest production to date and has already got support from Gareth Emery and Markus Schulz.
