Pablo Belov

Biography

Pablo Belov (Pavel Belov) is a musician with a classical education in violin and viola. He was born in 1983 in Almaty, Kazakhstan. In his academic years, he became the winner of several competitions, including international ones, and thanks to these victories, was able to enter the Almaty Conservatory on special terms - without exams. Then he worked for 5 years in a string chamber orchestra, participating in numerous tours (in Europe and Asia - London, Milan, Belfast, Warsaw, Kiev, Moscow, Almaty, Bombay, Tokyo, etc.) and recordings in the world's most famous studios (Abby Road, Angel Studios, etc.) and labels (EMI Classics, Toccata Classics, Sony BMG, Naxos). In 2005, the disc recorded by this group as part of a large orchestra in London at the Abby Road studio, released under the EMI label, in 2006 became No. 1 in the top twenty best classical music CDs (Requiem - Carl Jenkins), after which, the same year, BBC shot a 45-minute documentary about the orchestra (represented by 17 musicians including Pavel Belov) and Carl Jenkins. Pavel became fascinated by electronic music before starting the conservatory, in 2001, and began shaping his taste with the legendary “Global Underground” label, and such DJs as Sasha, John Digweed, Nick Warren, Dave Seaman, Sander Kleinenberg, Satoshi Tommy, Hernan Cattaneo, Pole Folder, James Holden, Deep Dish, Pete Tong, etc. Some of these people are still bringing joy to us today, some of them are no longer on stage, but their music remains and continues to evolve, becoming more interesting and more beautiful yet. Since 2010, Pavel lives in Moscow. In 2015 Pablo played at several parties and received enthusiastic reviews; starting in 2016, took a break for almost 3 years. As Pavel found himself transitioning into the new year of 2019, while playing at the New Year’s party in one of the Moscow clubs (Castaneda), he decided to turn his favorite hobby – his passion for electronic music – into his professional activity. The cocktail of good musical education, love of music and frequent trips to London, where Pavel, after his recordings and performances on the classical stage, spent time in the best clubs of the British capital in the heyday of the above DJs – served to form a great taste and a deep understanding of what musical DJ’s sets can and should be. Taking the nickname Pablo Belov (not in honor of the criminally known Pablo E, but in honor of the Spanish virtuoso musician Pablo Sarasate), Pablo is now performing and is already actively organizing themed parties in the direction of progressive, techno and progressive house sound. On September 20th, 2019, the first of a long party series "Perception of Sound" will be held in Moscow. At this event, the talented duo “Deepsence” will be celebrating their Frisky Radio “Voyager” project’s 10th birthday. Even though Pablo Belov is only at the beginning of his career as a DJ, his level, according to professionals’ feedback, is very high. Pablo Belov is a great driver for parties of any level. In addition to professional baggage, he possesses a bright charisma and magnetic energy. Immersing listeners into the world of musical and sensual experiences, he can easily warm-up and send them on a real musical journey. Visitors who hear Pablo play say that DJ sets are filled with an unusual and beautiful sound, and the professionals say that Pablo's taste is very good. If you want to see and hear what happens when a professional violin-specializing musician gets behind the DJ console – listen to the sets from Pablo Belov.
