Biography
A leap of faith and an overactive imagination are dangerous when combined together. Not in the case of the two crazy mavericks from Pune who make up Oozeundat though. When Roan Sable and Sidhant Naren decided to convert their mutual respect for underground electronic dance music into a Techno wave, no one could have predicted the young duo’s journey. Determined to produce and deliver intense, well-crafted sets focused on destroying dance- floors, Oozeundat’s sound is turning out to be as quirky as their name. Made from an amalgamation of their nicknames, their moniker is just a small display of their inherent madness. Formed in December 2011, Oozeundat aims to take audiences on a musical journey of deep, obscure and twisted techno. While Sidhant did his degree in sound engineering from SAE Institute, Sydney Australia, Roan did a diploma in the same from SAE Institute, Mumbai. Both graduating around the same time, they began collaborating once they moved back to Pune. Slowly taking over the Pune local scene for a year after performing their first gig in April of 2012, they gained a larger fan base when they got a chance to open for Arjun Vagale’s acclaimed Re:Focus show in February 2013. In fact, Arjun was so impressed by them that they were prominently signed on to UnMute. While the boys continued work on their productions, they were soon noticed and asked to open for the legendary Dubfire for his India tour in 2013. They have gone on to open for acclaimed artists such as Ambivalent, Anil Chawla, BLOT!, Guy J, Kohra and Spektre, and have also played alongside Marco Bailey and James Zabiela at Sunburn 2013, soon after performing at Go:Madras. Recently signed on to Maktub Music, Oozeundat’s debut EP – Bitch to Quit is out now and is making waves, even as they take their personalised brand of techno to club gigs around the country.
