Leroy Benjamin

Leroy Benjamin (1974) loves learning how life and music entwine. He started DJ-ing with a drive-inn show at high school disco parties, followed by residencies in different Dutch clubs. Later he founded his own event organization ‘No Fiction’ to elevate and renew dance events by booking DJ’s like Tiësto and Paul van Dyk (before they were as crazy famous as they are today.) Then came the Xpander era, one of the first online dance magazines with a global following. The Xpander team established an unprecedented global gathering of creative forward thinking music lovers worldwide. One of the highpoints was releasing video recordings of dance events long before the birth of Youtube. After Xpander came another fantastic creative learning period by founding the 16 Bit Lolita’s. Leroy Benjamin is a true innovator with one thing that always stayed constant: his love for music with got heart and soul. Or as he put’s it himself: “Like every human being I love listening to music. However, I am unable to just listen without feeling the need to convey the emotion and the art that lies in the music. Playing a sequence live is pure love. That is pure being! Bringing me to a pure state of creativity. And not only me. It brings the crowd in a similar realm, a realm without future or past. A place of inspiration to be creative, to live life naturally.”
