Biography
Leigh Length began his DJ journey in South London in 1988, inspired by the emerging Balearic sound from Ibiza and the pioneering House Music scene of Chicago. After building a reputation playing self-promoted beach parties at Camber Sands, he progressed to private parties and underground venues before travelling to Thailand during the early 1990s recession with little more than a box of vinyl. A chance opportunity led to a two-year residency at Mixpub on Koh Samui, the island's first club with turntables, while further opportunities saw him spend two six-month periods DJing in Tokyo and Osaka, completing three unforgettable years performing across Asia. Returning to the UK, family life took priority and DJing was put on hold until years later, when advances in digital technology inspired him to relaunch his passion by founding the Mixpub collective on Mixlr, named in honour of the Koh Samui club that shaped his career. The collective has since grown into a respected international community dedicated to underground electronic music, and Leigh Length now continues that journey as a featured artist on Frisky Radio under the Affiliate Labels banner, bringing decades of experience and a lifelong passion for progressive underground music to audiences around the world.
