Hiroyuki Kajino

Biography

1982 Hiroyuki Kajino started his career as a professional DJ. When he was 19, he became a resident DJ at Prestige Roppongi. He produced the first mastering mix program at FM Yokohama. It drew a major attention. He played as a resident DJ on Saturdays at Nishiazabu "TOOLS BAR" that became the epicentre of the club boom in Japan then. He was a pioneering DJ in HIP HOP, and played at clubs all over Japan. He was designated as a curtain raiser at the first live of LL COOL J in Japan. He produced the club "ANOTHR WORLD”, the first house music club in Japan. In 1988 Hiro played at CHOICE NY with the legendary DJ, Larry Levan. After coming back to Japan, He was invited as the resident DJ at GOLD, the first large-scale club in Japan. Producing the record shop "OM RECORDS” equipped with very high-quality sound system, Hiro carefully selected vinyls as a professional DJ. It was one-of-a-kind record shop where many prominent DJs came to buy records. 1990 Hiro played as a resident DJ at CAVE Shibuya, a former club of SPACE LAB YELLOW, 1991 continued to play at SPACE LAB YELLOW as a resident DJ. 1996 rereased KOTE MOUN YO EP from Kingstreet NY, collaborating with the famous Jazz pianist Masabumi Kikuchi. The record was remixed by Francois K and Joe Claussell, supported by famous clubs such as shelter and body & soul. 1997 produced a used record shop REAL MUSIC RECORDS at Shibuya. 2003 produced a next-generation record shop Stylus at Shibuya. 2007 started a online record shop OPTIMO, and its design of the website got a Gold Award of oneshowinteractive e-commerce department.
