Herbie Walton

H-Dubb, or simply Herbie Walton to his friends, started exploring his music inclinations by playing rhythm guitar for a garage band while still in high school in Okinawa, Japan. As with the case of a lot of his peers back then in the 90s, Herbie was also fond of getting his groove on, and would frequent the local clubs during weekends just to dance. It was during this time that his interest for dance music and its many genres blossomed ・trumping everything else in the process. Initially drawn to the funky beats and rhythms of hip hop, it didn稚 take long before he was championing everything that caught his ear and moved his feet. With his mind and body in sync with the music, the transition from spectator to mover 創 shaker came soon after. Armed with a highly refined sense of rhythm and a gritty determination, H-Dubb first burst into the scene playing breakbeats ・a clear reflection of his love for hip hop and the more energetic forms of dance music that pervaded within him. Herbie is primarily known to play his unique blend of deep house and tech house these days ・but to peg him as just that would be such a travesty, as he still finds himself playing gigs that allow him to go across the board: from hip hop to freestyle to techno. Currently, H-Dubb is affiliated with San Francisco痴 Playground Legendz. He is the resident DJ at Long Bar, Fairmont Hotel Raffles, Makati and has played at several of Manila痴 hot spots such as M-Cafe, B-Side, Rocketroom, Society Lounge, Establishment and a regular at TIME.
