Denis J has been mixing since the mid-90s, coming up on the progressive sound of Sasha, BT and Spooky, and signed to Forensic Records in 2025. Based in Jersey, Channel Islands, he counts Jersey's own Duncan Forbes, Marc Mitchel, Stuart King, Sunday Club, Human Movement, Hybrid, Seafield among his inspirations, alongside the likes of Lexicon Avenue, Martin Roth, KLF, Pink Floyd, Banco De Gaia Vangelis & Hans Zimmer His recent work has moved away from the dancefloor into long-form ambient mixes built around atmospheres, melodies and samples. He works entirely by ear, with a simple approach: music is something you feel, not just hear. Ambient gives him room to work with silence, words and emotion in a way club sets don't. Denis takes most of his inspiration from science fiction film.
