Delia Plangg

Delia Plangg [Jonny Knüppel] Born in 1987, Delia grew up between Berlin and Dresden in a musical family and quickly discovered her passion for singing and playing piano. As a 90’s kid, she loved surfing between different genres and enjoyed observing the development of new styles and mixtures – such as the diverse expressions of electronic music. Early she began to sing in different choirs and bands and took piano and singing lessons at the conservatory in Dresden. After leaving Berlin and Dresden for studying cultural studies, music management (B.A.) and popular music and media (M.A.) in Jena, Weimar and Paderborn, Delia came back in 2016. During her Academic studies she never stopped being between Dresden and Berlin; commuted between the different cities, she started at the beginning of her twenties her first electronic music project in Dresden, named Projekt BR with 3 other artists. All of the four were interested in the new development of dubstep, drumstep and in Electro-house and enjoyed to produce deep, bassy and rough sounds, playing them at different underground partys and in several clubs. Since then Delia has been polishing her DJing and production skills and her love and passion for electronic dance music never stopped. Therefore she decided to write her master thesis about the sociocultural field of the electronic dance music scene, too. At all times Delia Plangg avoids any musical limit and clearly distinguishes herself from close minded behaviour and thinking – especially in music. As today Delia still prefers thinking outside the box. She personally loves playing deep melodical house and nudisco sounds, but her sets are characterized by many different styles and mixtures. One day it could happen that she chooses rough and clean sounds with breakbeat influences and some sets or moments later you found yourself tripping away because of the deep and catchy baseline you can hear. Together with the Dresden based DJ Martin Saupe she organized in 2019 a party series in the club Tba, called Spotlight, and names such as Marc dePulse and Pauli Pocket were some of the main guests of the series, with the concept of giving the artist the oppurtunity to perform and please the crowd for the whole night. Since the end of her studies Delia released several synthwave tracks with UfoGuy, a producer from Dresden and other regional Artists, while meanwhile working on her new solo material. As a DJ she performed during the past 3 years in different Clubs and locations such as KaterBlau [Berlin], In einer Bucht [Berlin], Jonny Knüppel [Berlin], Südpol [Hamburg], Station Endlos [Halle], Objekt klein a [Dresden], Sektor Evolution [Dresden], Club Paula [Dresden], Tba [Dresden] next to Artists like David Dorad, Schleppgeist and Kuriose Naturale. Last year Delia became a Resident DJ of the Berlin collective Jonny Knüppel, where she lately was part of the Jonny Knüppel streaming session, organized from the United We Stream Team of the TV-channel ARTE.
