David Hänsel's journey into electronic music began back in the early '90s, with Trance as his first love. A few years later, his musical taste shifted toward Deep House, but it was Progressive House that truly captured his heart. Influenced and inspired by legends like Hernan Cattaneo, Nick Warren, and Guy J, David found his artistic direction and never looked back. His first live encounter with this powerful and emotional sound came at Woodstock 69 in the Netherlands—an unforgettable experience that introduced him not only to incredible music but also to wonderful people who became lifelong friends. For David, Progressive House isn’t just a genre—it’s home. His style is atmospheric, groovy, melodic, and sometimes even impulsive, but never too hard or repetitive. A track needs to speak to him—whether it’s through a gritty bassline, a beautiful vocal, a haunting melody, or an unexpected element that grabs attention. He often begins his sets with warm, organic sounds—especially from labels like Amulanga, Songuara, and All Day I Dream—setting the mood before building into peak-time energy with melodic techno or darker progressive tracks. Artists such as Simos Tagias, Dowden, Dmitry Molosh, Kasper Koman, Tonaco, and Mike Rish are among his go-tos for that deeper punch. David hosts his own monthly radio show, Progressive Pearls, on xbeat.org, airing every third Thursday of the month at 9 PM (CET). His sets often run for around three hours and are crafted to take listeners on a true musical journey—because for him, it’s never just about playing one track after another. His guest mixes have been featured by respected platforms like PFG Movement (UK), Saturo Sounds (UK), Progresivna Suza (Serbia), Elements on Proton, Night Grooves (Netherlands), The Future is Now (Belgium), Unity (Hungary), Droid9 Label Showcase (USA), and Not by Rituals (Sri Lanka). As a resident of Sugar Beats (Germany), David has played at numerous events across Germany, including a major open-air event at a castle near Limburg, and unique private parties in Amsterdam. In 2023, he performed at Melomanie during ADE, and at After Winefest in Limburg. He’s also played back-to-back sets with fellow artists like Chia Music, Sylva de Luna, Saebo, Alain Pauwels, and Zoyzi.
