D'Arksy

Biography

Hailing from London and now based in Dubai, D’Arksy grew up with a diverse musical education covering all genres from Bach to Janice Joplin to Buena Vista Social Club. His deep love for music started at the age of 8 after he attended his first live concert, the opening of Pink Floyd’s Division Bell World Tour. D’Arksy began to pursue his interest in electronic music during the early 2000s as part of the UK Jungle, Drum n Bass, and Acid House rave scenes. It was the in mid-2000s that his passion for the wider House genre developed through his connection to Ibiza and Glastonbury and the rise to prominence of Crosstown Rebels and Hot Creations. D’Arksy became part of the Lovebullets art collective whose productions at Worthy Farm have become legendary, collaborating with the likes of Kubicle and hosting artists such as Jamie Jones, Ali Love, Richy Ahmed and more. He attended his first Burning Man in 2013 and has not looked back. He now curates the music for Disorient, a sound camp since 2001, and Bedouin Tech, an event in the UAE now in its 6th year. Through these events he has been lucky enough to be at the epicentre of the cutting edge of House music, performing on lineups alongside Hoj, Be Svendsen, Britta Unders and others. For his own sound, D’Arksy likes to blur the lines between the weird, cosmic and melodic realms of the genre.
