Bren Hughes

Liverpool based DJ, Bren Hughes, started his love affair with electronic music in the 80's as he grew up listening to Jean Michel Jarre and progressed to 1989 when he discovered acid house music. Hearing Steve Poindexter and other amazing sounds cemented his love for the underground and by the age of 17 he had started to explore DJing himself. In 1992, a religious experience on the dancefloor hearing Sasha drop Bladerunner remake ignited a love of the progressive house sound. Bren seeks out the darker progressive sounds and a great affinity with the South American vibes of Cattaneo. He has had several local residencies and played at Retro Trax festival in 2012 and 2013 and now curates a monthly show at the legendary Mixpub Live!
