Artil, as a dj and a producer has taken the journey of rhythmic tech-house genre starting from 2001 with a broad range of influences he managed to experimentally push boundaries of electronic music scene in Kosovo. Born in Gjakova, Kosovo, Artil Qarkagjija began his career by taking original inspirations from the spirit of old school, deep-house, and techno by combining these elements into his wave of tech-house. Artil’s fascinating element gets its authority by the inspiration of Radiohead, Massive Attack, Depeche Mode, Gus Gus, Faithlees, Sven Vath, Lemon8, Danny Teneglia, Jeff Mills, John Digweed, Satoshi Tomiie, Richie Hawtin, and Deep Dish. Artil’s extensive work in Gjakova’s electronic scene is highly appreciated, his major collaborations with local clubs like Ibiza, Underground, and Bardh e Zi in 2002 – 2004 brought Artil near the audience. The moment when the audience got introduced with Artil, their energy linked and fusion came to scene. Artil’s passionate approach in the electronic scene made him play along many international and local artists. His latest well-know project is his performance on Frisky Radio, Paris, France, where he presented Kosovo with his set Frisky Radio Loves Kosovo. As an active artist, Artil is continually collaborating with various groups and lately he started working on his own project Mind+, a project that aims at developing electronic music scene in Kosovo and delivering always the finest sounds. Artil’s vision and love of music will drive him to explore new trends and extend his horizon to above and beyond.
