Amir Javasoul

Biography

Amir Javasoul’s journey into music began, oddly enough, with a moment of silence and darkness. The orchestrator of this momentary lack of sound was none other than Derrick Carter. It was July 1st capitol of Amir’s adopted Canada. “ At 3 in the morning, after he had served up 5 hours of some of the best house music anyone has ever heard, he cut all music (and lights) and cued this low- tempo sleazy Chicago Track (Lil Louis – I Called U) and followed that with a deep mid-tempo session that just blew me away. I said to myself, I will do this.” Over the next few hours the transitions of Deep sounds, sparked an evolution in Amir that would transform him into the man he is today, a DJ. A “graduate of the School of Derrick Carter” & Chicago House, Amir stays true to his roots but remains unafraid to stretch the boundaries of genres and delve into the inner workings of any given crowd, in any given town. Nothing is pre-programmed. It’s just the people, the DJ and his records, and every single one of his 7000-plus vinyl’s, has a story. Although he cut his teeth in the late-90’s Montreal club scene, it was a turn of the century move to Paris that really helped develop Amir’s career in music. Beginning in Paris’ Queen Club, Amir would embark on a decade-long journey of booking (and playing alongside) some of the worlds best DJs. His Paris residencies; Queen Club(2002-2004), Redlight (2004-, 1996, in the 2006) and Terassa (2002-2005), paved the way to him playing at some of best clubs in the world; Ministry of Sound (London), Crystal (Istanbul), Pacha (Ibiza), Café D’anvers (Antwerp), the list is endless. 2011 saw Amir return back to Montreal, where he grew up. Although he never truly left, touring the US and Canada regularly, Amir missed home, and returned to find a fresher, better scene then he left behind. On the 1st(Javasoul Artist Management), a company dedicated to helping DJ/Producers with their artistry.
